CPUstress has also been updated to V2.1expl6 and given its own menu entry. The major change in this release is putting FDUBCD and DOSAPPS on a 16MB superfloppy image.

I have added the Clam AV and F-Prot antivirus databases, which were missing from the previous version. UBCD V5.2.0 is out after a number of test releases.

This allows me to issue updates faster because the patch files are typically quite small, so I can afford to host them myself instead of propagating the changes to the mirrors, which takes a lot of coordination and time.

For better or for worse, I am making UBCD V4.0 available for download today after a short beta test.

If the Flash Memory Writer utility was not able to successfully update a complete BIOS file, your system may not be able to boot up.

I have performed the usual app refresh to their latest versions. A few apps have been updated to their latest versions. FDUBCD now uses a 50MB superfloppy image to give more room for expansion and customization. Besides the usual app updates, CPUstress has been updated to V2.5.2 by Explorer09. CPUstress has been updated to V2.4.0 (with thanks to Explorer09), along with other recent updates. However, if you are currently subscribed to the web forum via email, I would suggest that you switch to tracking the web forum via RSS feeds.

CPUstress has been updated to V2.3.3 (with thanks to Explorer09). It also includes Parted Magic for more reliable access to NTFS filesystems and USB storage devices.

This helps FDUBCD work on more systems, where previously issues may be encountered on systems with physical CDROM drives that are not supported by the DOS CDROM driver. As usual, you can download the latest version here. This release involves a major reorganization to the directory structure to achieve better isolation of UBCD-related files, as well as the addition/updates/removal of many apps in UBCD.

This new release would not be possible without the contribution of as702, who single-handedly remade the UBCD Free DOS boot disk, and Ice Cube, who spearheaded grub4dos integration, antivirus database updates scripts, additional Parted Magic modules and contributed in many other areas. This is probably the last RC before the mainline release so I would appreciate it if you could download it, give it a try and give me your feedback. If you encounter problems while updating the new BIOS, DO NOT turn off your system since this corrupt BIOS might cause your system failed to boot up.Just repeat the process, and if the problem still persists, update the original BIOS file.I have been considering and reconsidering this issue for a very long time, and I hope it's all for the best.I will be releasing binary patches to fix bugs in the original UBCD ISO image.
